Equasis shows that she now as a crew of seven. Two British and five Polish. When I boarded this ship a few years ago she only had five crew in total, all British and Irish. I hope they were not flagged out solely for crewing purposes. Though Eqausis does show she's now owned in Norway, but then why the British officers? Surely like the others Bimi etc she'd just get a full Russian crew or whatever they are on those ships.

Does anyone know if Arklow Shipping still employ British and Irish seamen on their ships? I almost started for them myself a few years ago as a deckhand but decided that going to sea as anything under an officer was a lost cause with amongst the lowest possible job security of any job in the western world with the threat from cheaper seamen replacing you at any moment.

Hi Jordan

I am afraid I am not aware, if Arklow stii employ from the UK and Eire. You are right about no job security as a seaman!

Interesting photo - you comment that she is Irish flag, and as of today [14 May] Equasis show her as such.
However, this photo clearly shows port of registry as Nassau, and she is flying the Bahamas flag.
Presume this change is so recent that Equasis have not yet recorded it.

I wonder if Arklow Shipping have similarly changed the registry of any more of their ships?

Hi David

Glad you like the photos.
Arklow Spray changed to Bahamas registry whilst she was at Mistley. So very recent indeed, I guess she might be changing name soon also, we will see.

Derek
