So, if she has this structure attached to her bow, wouldn't that affect her overall stability when she was detached? Also, I guess she'll never use her anchors again.

Thank you Federico/rarcand/miraflores/davidships for your input. I'd moved my photo in iPhoto and batched it into the wrong date.
Rarcand, I also posted a platform under Mystery vessels. It has been identified as the VEGA A (under Platforms) after looking at your link.
I'm afraid my geography needs brushing up somewhat !
Thanks again for your helps.
Kind regards,

Cephalonia is in the Ionian Sea, and probably the first Greek island you come to from the west if heading for Patras.

Seems no doubt about the ID as FSO LEONIS on station south of Pozzallo. The building on the horizon does elude me though. Also the riser and yoke are right for this installation.

Almost everything points to the Leonis. If you check the picture at http://www.petrolioegas.it/piattaforma-vega/ you will notice the funnel shape, the helicopter platform, the cranes and the docking appartus. There is only one lifeboat but maybe the other was added after a fire in 2013.

I shall consult my photograph dates. A day after I took this I was in Cephalonia. Am I right in thinking most of the Greek isles are in the Aegean?

Are You sure that she's not in front of South Sicily? It seems to be the FSO LEONIS of Edison. It's about 10 miles south of Pozzallo.
