Hello Petros and Phil, the dismantling of her was started the day after she arrived at Grenaa.

Yes, A Turkish broker is circulating her for sale 'direct from owners', Gothenburg, Norway. Somehow I think it's a mistake. She's not moved from Grenaa!

Has the demolition begun?? Because some brokers circulated her today...Presuming by mistake..

Hi Edward, it was also my thought, and then we hope that the new has noise dampened ramps :-)

Better to scrap her than to compete with her after selling.

I am suprised there are no trading buyers for a smallish versatile not too old Norwegian-built car carrier. I guess this could mean that the Dutch-built fleetmates (AUTOPREMIER, AUTOPROGRESS, AUTOPRIDE) could also have a short life.

She was a rather noisy neighbour in Oslo. Twice a week, monday and thursday, she came with VAG cars from Bermerhafen. The monday trip usualy the hole cargo was discarged. The other trip half and half with BMW to Drammen. Her stern ramp made a lot of noise when the cars passed over it. Started 07 in the morning.

@ Steffen, yes, unfortunately the ship has sailed its last trip.
@ Denis, you're right regarding Autorunner and yes it different than they used to be.
@ Smithy, there has been a greater at the dock regarding pictures should I do what I can :-)
@ Trygve, yes it's a little weird when you have been on board and seen how well the ship is.

AUTORACER will be replaced by a new LNG ships which you can read about here.

I had something in mind those are from one series built at Japan around 2000, but obviously these "sisters" differ and have some years to each other. Time is passing by...

Also, she was laid up (at Emden, I think) for nearly three years 2009-2012.

I am shocked. Last year I made a visit onboard this ship with her nice crew. Made 2 pictures for Shipspotting. I got a good impression of the ship. For me, nothing indicated that she would be scrapped 15 moonths later.

She's got to be one of the biggest you've broken up, Bendt? I look forward to seeing more pictures though - I've always wondered how these PCTC's are put together!

Unusual ship for you to scrap, Bendt!
Looks like a sistership to AUTORUNNER - I have a Sea Partner's brochure from the 90s where she's still described as "brand new", lol.

What??!
Is this fine ship really going to be scrapped, she is just 21 years old and looks splendid!?
