That's a nice idea, I think, and it sounds reasonable in accordance with the experience you are mentioning. However, as Christmas has gone by by now more than 2 weeks the owner may should consider a new decorative greenery;)

When I was working on M/V Anna Sirkka, I've seen this ship with a so called "Maibaum" (May tree) on the bow, so it seems, that the owner cares about holidays and traditions. :)
