Can't remember what it was called but the last Japanese beer I tried (in Japan) was excellent and although as a Scotsman I hate to admit it, Japanese whisky is not bad either.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the info, as said I've never heard of them before.
For the Japanese beers; they tasted quite well when I was there.
Currently I'm on Skol.
Cheers,
Roy

I'll stick with Spingo

Despite the name and obvious Dutch Connection, the owner, Triton Navigation B.V., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, Japan.

Let's not mention Japanese beer!

On top of that Monty Python made the best joke ever about American Beer (and as far as I am concerned, it goes for Amstel too. It is about the analogy with having sex in a canoo.....

Hi B.Clark,
I did not mention Amstel as a beer brand because a lot of people in Holland have the opinion it just tastes like water from the Amstel...
Indeed Vlad more or less what you're saying haha.
Cheers (and enjoy them),
Roy

Reminds me of this one:

After a Beer Festival in London, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer. Corona's president orders a Corona, Budweiser guy a Budweiser, Coors guy a Coors, but the guy from Guinness orders a Coke.
The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask, "Why aren't you drinking a Guinness?" and the Guinness president replies, "Well, if you guys aren't drinking beer, neither will I."

Cheers (and Cheers!)

@B. Clark, would not call it a beer, it is a pale yellow liquid...

Thanks for your comment, Roy! As soon as I saw "Amstel" in her name, I knew it had something to do with Amsterdam... :)

Cheers

Hi Vlad,
I'm not into bulk-ships, you know that, but name got my attention.
It seems very dutch, Amstel is a river on which banks Amsterdam was built and Stork, we shiplovers all know, was a dutch brand of diesel engines, and ok in English it's a bird.
Checked equasis and there seems to be connection; the registered owner and ship manager are Triton Navigation BV in Amsterdam (I must admit I never heard of it)
Cheers,
Roy
