1950 Built as whale catcher KVINT by A & J Inglis Ltd., Greenock and delivered in November to the whaling company Falkland Shipowners, London.
1951 In October sold to A/S Antarctic, Tonsberg. Renamed KJAPP
1952 In August purchased by Salvesen and renamed SOUTHERN JESTER. Catching for the Leith Harbour all seasons until the station closed down after the 1960/61-season.
1957 12th. January: R/Y BRITANNIA berthed at Leith Harbour and HRH Prince Philip was welcomed as a popular guest. After the visit the royal party was carried to King Edward Cove by SOUTHERN JESTER. If the “Jester” acted as a jester on 12th. January, the story doesn’t tell.
1961 Catching for Fl/F SOUTHERN HARVESTER in her last active season, 1961/62
1962 Laid up at Melsomvik, Norway.
1964 Sold to P/R Torleif Jensen, Kristiansand, Norway and renamed KVINT.
1966 Rebuilt to cargo ship with oil engine and transferred to A/S Kvint, (Torleif Jensen).
1976 Repurchased by P/R Torleif Jensen.
1978 Sold to P/R Kvintess, Norway and renamed KVINTESS
1981 Sold to K/S Berentsen & Helgesen, Norway.
1983 Sold to Simon Møkster Shipping, Stavanger and rebuilt to stand by ship. Renamed STRILHVAL.
2006 Still in use as standby/rescue vessel in the North Sea and fitted with a 1600 BHP Deutz engine. Capable for 15.5 kn.
