Yvon, some additional info: The floating bridge was built in 1888 by Leonard Burlington Smith (1858-1934) from the U.S.Captain,Merchant,Consul.
In 2015 the total wooden deck was replaced.

Thank you very much Cees.
1888, so not really 'a recent built' !
On the previous GE views of Aug and Sep 2015, the bridge was missing (repairs ?) and I didn't go enough in the past with GE. So I thought it was a new bridge. Sorry ...
All the best from Martinique

Hello Yvon,
Thanks for your comment and interest.
The floating "Queen Emma Bridge" bridge was built in 1888.
She is motorised by two outboard engines on both sides on the Punda (west) side of the bridge.
Opening of the bridge depends on inbound/outbound shipping movements

Hi Cees,
Very nice pics of this tanker.
When looking at Willemstad channel entrance with Google Earth, a floating bridge seems to have been recently built.
That means that for the passage of a ship, the bridge must be removed.
Is the bridge motorised or manoeuvred by tugs ?
How many time is necessary to clear the channel for ship passage ?
Thanks by advance.
Regards,
Yvon
