Description:

Sir William Reardon Smith's 1950 Doxford, Sunderland, built QUEEN CITY is seen passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth, exactly fifty years ago today, on 15th December 1966, on a voyage from Canada to Liverpool.

Her first voyage as OMALA, owned by N.E.Neophytos of Athens, was sailing from Newport on 22nd April 1966 bound for Dunedin via Panama. She was sold in 1971 to Navarino Shipping & Transport to trade as PROSPERITY until resold in 1975 to Abbas Gokal's Gulf Shipping.

As UNITED ORIENT she operated only locally around the Indian sub continent, including lightening off Chalna and Chittagong, and was broken up at Gadani Beach starting late in February 1977.
