Description:

US Military Sealift Command operated Spearhead class Expeditionary Fast Transport.
Capable of speeds of over 40 knots, built by Austal Shipbuilding in Mobile Alabama. They are capable of carrying an infantry company (100+ troops) along with their vehicles.
Seen here going west over the Thimble Shoals Tunnel passage of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel of Virginia Beach VA. She later exercised in the Chesapeake Bay and then went to Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base.
