The 1953 Elsinore built CYPRIAN PRODUCER is seen transiting the Kiel Canal eastbound on 29th June 1968 to load cargo at Gdynia for Piraeus and Thessaloniki

I stayed at Rendsburg until June 30th, 1968 (the end of my military time there). But from time to time I come back to my home town.

With sistership CYPRIAN TRADER (ex BYGOLM), she was owned by Doric Cyprian Lines Ltd (Theomaides Bros) of Famagusta who had a London office at 19 Broad Street, WC2

That's most interesting Michael!

I was staying about half way between Kiel and Rendsburg with Ivan Wagnholt of Fredericia who often brought his caravan to a place alongside the Canal

I briefly visited Rendsburg on 5th July 1968 while on the way home and again in the 1970s

All being well over the next few months, I will scan more negatives from my 1968 visit and post them here next year on the fiftieth anniversary of the visit. Perhaps there will be more that you had also seen on the same occasion. Best regards. Malcolm
