Description:
Wavertree built in 1885 Southampton England, Wavertree circled the globe four times in her sailing career, In 1910 she was caught in a storm rounding cape horn and was demasted ending her sailing career. She was salvaged and used as a floating warehouse and later as a sand barge in south america. In 1968 she was saved by the South street seaport museum and towed to New York.
In 2015 Wavertree underwent a City-funded 13.5 million dollar restration, She is now flagship of the South Street Seaport Museum .
