Description:
United Baltic's BALTROVER, built in 1949 at Fredriksstad as MARSTENEN and purchased in 1950, was photographed passing Portishead fifty years ago today, on 25 January 1969, on a part loaded voyage from Sharpness to Barrow as ANGELOS P. shortly after her purchase by Th. A. Papangelopoulos of Piraeus. Her cargo was scrap railway lines for discharge at Vera Cruz, Mexico.
Papangelopoulos was also the owner of two vessels named PANAGHIA P. (IMO 5278781 built 1947 and IMO 6904181 built 1968).
Becoming ANGEL BELL in 1974, ANGELOS P. suffered a fire and sank whilst in tow on 18.2.76 after engine failure during a voyage from Dubai to Karachi.
