......maybe the owner / manager of the vessel did not provided the necessary paint ? Or simply waiting for next dry dock ..... she's 10 years old now

Well I sailed containerships be myself, already the time frame is rather limited. However it is here and there possible. But strictly as mentioned before, painting is prohibited by MARPOL.

Tell me all about it...
But then maybe we are lucky on our current trade most ports allow us to paint the hull.
And if you want, you should not look like this.

@ MO Roy, that all do nowadays with time, the main reason is very easy,, never time to do it and in almost all ports is painting prohibited. On top o that the MARPOL regulation restricting and confining painting jobs virtual to dry dock times as the requirements to do so can almost only be fullfilled there.
