Description:
Vintage Puget Sound tugboat preserved as an operational vessel and museum at Olympia, Washington. Seen underway on Budd Inlet during the 2017 Olympia Harbor Days festival.
Based on her age alone, one could easily assume that she is a steam tug. However, she was originally built as an early gas-powered tugboat with a 3-cylinder Frisco Standard engine. In 1922 she was repowered with a Fairbanks-Morse 3-cylinder engine, and in 1944 updated again with the 6-cylinder Caterpillar she retains to this day.
