Description:

Unknown Chinese built tanker Passing Kusu Island on 18th May 2017, westbound in Singapore Straits.
Appears to be a former Chinese tanker. There is a name on the bow, but it's not readable. There is also a name on the bridge board, but again it can not be made out - any help will be gratefully received.

Thanks David, however I had ruled out this ship, as she was built in Japan, and I'm pretty sure this is Chinese built.

As I said, it's probably not the right one anyway. "Decommissioned or lost" is what MarineTraffic use when they don't know and no info for a long time. Perhaps still Korean? Or do you think that the name on the bow is in Chinese?

That would mean that she kept her Korean name, but I find it highly doubtful. Marinetraffic states that the vessel with this IMO number is "decommissioned or lost".

Thanks Phil - I fear this one will remain a mystery. There was no AIS trace at the time, so no help there.

The name seems to be something like YONGUNG No. 3 but no trace of anything similar.
