This is not a wartime formation. Wartime formations would be more spread out and organized based on tasks/missions assigned and threat factors. This is what is called a PHOTOEX. It is cool though.

Yes, that is cool and what makes it more interesting/thought provoking is why they are set up in that particular formation. If this was a war scenario, are the corvettes (if that's what they are) on the perimeter there to protect the midline vessels ?
