She was escorting the tug DORIS MORAN that was pushing the tank barge PORTLAND on a windy and rainy evening.
The FORT BRAGG was originally built in 1998 for CAPE FEAR towing and was passed to MORAN when that company was bought by them.
She is 85 feet long, weighs 144 tons, and has "Z" type drives with Caterpillar diesel marine engines.
