Universal general cargo ship (B348/1) built by Lenin Shipyard in Gda?sk for ChPTO Chipolbrok (Chinese Polish Joint Stock Company - Chipolbrok, Chinese-Polish Ship Association S.A. in Shanghai - established in 1951 in Tianjin and Gdynia as "Chinese-Polish Enterprise of Ship Brokers ” on the basis of an agreement between Poland and China to establish a sea connection between Chinese and Polish ports); Launched on May 30, 1981 as m/s PARANDOWSKI. Due to the huge problems tormenting the Polish economy and politics at that time (SOLIDARITY strikes, protests, shortages in material supplies, and finally the imposition of Martial Law by the bandit, criminal military hunt), the finishing works took a long time. The ship could be handed over to the shipowner after many months ... On February 12, 1982, she left Gdynia and began her maiden voyage to the ports of the People's Republic of China. In October 1991 , still in the colors of Chpilbrok , the ship took an active part in the rescue operation after the sinking of the Greek ship ERATU in the Mediterranean Sea . February 20, 1997 m/s PARANDOWSKI was sold. The new owner was POL-America, a company owned by PLO (Polish Ocean Lines). The ship was registered as the property of POLOCEAN-S.STARZYNSKI SHIPPING. The official takeover, change of name to ROMER and ship owners' colors took place on July 11, 1997 in Antwerp. The ship was originally intended to serve the eastern coast of South America. Bankruptcies of subsequent PLO subsidiaries resulted in the ship being arrested in Rotterdam (April 2000) due to financial claims of Bank Kandlowy in Warsaw. Two months later m/s ROMER was sold by auction to a Greek shipowner and renamed KATHARINA. It served under this name for almost a decade. It was eventually sold for scrap. He arrived on the beach in Chttagong ( Bangladesh ) in April 2010 .
