The 1943 Tacoma built C3-S-A1 type IRENE VALMAS, owned by A.Valmas, which was formerly owned by Nederlandsch-Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Mij (Holland America Line), is seen passing Portishead outbound from Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago, on 28th September 1969.

Launched as U.S.S. BASTIAN, projected as H.M.S. LUCIFER
