Description:

**21/12/2019 Updated**

Identity confirmed as 'Nancy Moran' by the due diligence of all, and with special thanks to Manfred for the crucial link and his dedication to solve the mystery.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Request for assistance to identify this Moran tug, seen
at New York in the mid 1960's, probably between 1964 and 1967.
In addition, can anyone pinpoint the location?

Scanned from a poor quality slide.
From the collection of the late Niels Anker Larsen, former Danish Merchant Navy Radio Officer.

Thanks, Rick

@ Tomas: indeed - hohoho.

@ Manfred: Thanks for your dedication to the cause. The 'tugboatpainter' link seals it for me - a painting, no less. Well done!

@ Bjørn and thank you for the confirmation :-)

I think she is NANCY MORAN (1958, Jacobson), the rare kind with a lifeboat and davit in that position on starboard side.

I think in retrospect it must be "You bloody Moran", one of the lesser known.

Thanks for your suggestions gentlemen.

I have been studying various Moran tugs as suggested, but am no further forward.
I agree that 'Carol Moran' is a likely contender.

I think, however not 100% sure, that it is the Carol Moran. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/tugboat-slides-moran-towing-tug-boat-110352327

The Cathleen B. Moran is Helens sistervessel, and those are the only ones built at Diamond manufacturing at Savannah, so that yard may be excluded. But they are veeery similar. Tomas

Close , but I don't think it's the Helen B. Moran.
Funnel seems to be more narrow and the lifeboat & gantry are missing
