Seen below locks at Maasbracht/Limburg (The Netherlands) is one of 120 inland cargo vessels built in the USA and in Canada shortly after the Second World War for delivery to France as part of the Marshall Plan. Totally 25 smaller (63,31m length) and 95 larger vessels (73,50m length) were shipped to Europe in parts with 35 of the larger vessels being assembled by shipyard De Biesbosch at Dordrecht (NL). Some 65 vessels of this rare breed have survived in France, Belgium, Germany and in the Netherlands.
