Hi brett !
i was thinking that would be a bit odd even though i still didnt think they would have even built the top with that method as carrying such a load but i am no designer nor do i know any thing at all of ship building i have done lot's of electrical work on them but all the ships i have been on even taking wire's though bulkhead's were all steel with a steel flange for cable and pipe route's thank any way for that brett all the best & stay safe

Hello Manuel ! not a nice sight such a young ship !
surely the hull was not aluminium am i right in saying only the upper or am i wrong on that ?

If I remember correctly, the supersturcture was constructed out of aluminium and the heat from the fire impacted the structure quickly and badly.

Yes, due to the high temperatures, the steel weakened and part of the structure collapsed.

All that distortion not due to the fire ? Or is it ?

Of course. And in this type of ships there have already been many cases of fire, especially in the goods of trucks and on the trucks and the vehicles themselves.

Hello Manuel, yes I agree with you 100%. A very sad picture, however it highlights the danger of fire at sea.

Thank you Brett. Yes, it draws attention, but it's not the nicest way to look at a ship.
