On the ligther side - my qualified guess is that the schooner in the background is the Dutch DE GALLANT, in case anyone wondered.

And what a mismatch on the GRT and DWT,, on capers it is about 1 GRT = 2 ton DWT,,this one is barely over 1 = 1,, same most probably with the main engines,, on capers (92000 GRT) like 26000 hp on those easy 60-70000 hp and more.

No accommodation in the funnel/scrubber..

Are the engineer's cabins located in this block ?

I don't think so because it would act in reverse with the headwind. The funnel being in the center of the ship originally, the scrubber was installed on each side, it's my opinion now if someone has another version ...but I agree that it's really horrible :-)

Would that mass act as a sail in a tailwind ?

Nice Photo Pascl, Only I have to agree with Captain Ted, the funnel with it scrubber system is a wee bit out of proportion to the rest of the vessel.
Kind regards,
Frank

Unfortunately it has been a long time since there has been a search for aesthetics but only profitability.
