Description:

The 1950 Bartrams, Sunderland, built SILVER SEA, owned by Stavros Daifas (ex- MARTINE-70, ex-HULDA MAERSK-68) was photographed sailing from Rotterdam on 15th May 1971 for Pietarsaari.

During that night she suffered a collision with Messageries Maritimes' MOONIE and she was the following day towed into Cuxhaven for inspection. She finally arrived at Hamburg on 22nd March 1972 to be broken up.

Quite unique...Whilst her name is "SILVER SEA", on the stern the name is translated and written in greek translation ie "ΑΣΗΜΕΝΙΑ ΘΑΛΑΣΣΑ"...(asimenia thalassa).
