See the rear view with towing array. The vessel is very wide and very short. Very wide to cope with the towing array for surveying seabed, I suppose a towed sonar system comprised of multiple sonar heads, though I have very limited knowledge of this. I suppose the wider the array the fewer passes have to be made to survey a particular area of seabed.

Guy's is it just me been daft or is this picture out of proportion what i mean is it looks flat and VERY VERY WIDE or it it that shape for a reason ? i did some work on a vessel owned by all seas company the shis name was the solitaire it was a pipe laying vessel it looked like a woman's stiletto shoe with a big white stinger hanging off the back of it that lay the pipe's on to the ocean floor ? the pipe were welded as it was moving and slowly laying the pipes ?but this is a strange shape also
