Description:
IMBAT has an even more complex history than sistership EFTIHIA (IMO 9045637) together with which she loaded scrap at Liverpool in 2007 for discharge at Nemrut Bay. IMBAT is seen approaching Gladstone lock on 22nd August 2007.
As yard number 1299 she was one of the same large class of ships built by Santierul Naval Braila. She is recorded in Equasis as having been provisionally registered under the Romanian flag in 2000 as BIRNOVA but quickly changed to Turkish firstly under the ownership of Bogazici Denicilik, and then under that of Fast Maritima who renamed her HAMBURG PRIDE flying the Malta flag but still under Turkish management.
She was sold in 2002 to Sea Diamond Maritime of Malta and managed, along with sistership ARAS, by Bora Denizcilik of Istanbul, changing flag in 2006 to Panama.
Later: 2008 NOVOSEA - 10 MEHMET BEY
