Description:

The 1978 Seville built COMET, owned by Samos S.S. Co.(Mimis Inglessis) of Piraeus, is seen arriving at Liverpool on 21st June 1997.

Ex - VILLE DE BREST - 83 ANJOU - 89 COMET - 90 LANKA RUWAN - 90

On 18th July 1997, during a voyage from Zeebrugge to Alexandria, she suffered an engine room fire while 180nm south east of Crete and was disabled. Taken in tow on 20th July, she arrived at Serifos on 24th July for drydocking. She subsequently sailed from Syros on 18th November bound for Aliaga where she was beached for breaking.
