Hi Baldizza, regarding a well-fitted engine room, volker have in a nice way answered your question but I can add: Fornaes has scrapped an incredible number of offshore ships and other types, I do not have numbers on how many but I do not remember being on board an offshore ship where the engine room was not embarrassingly clean and polished and I have been to many.

Best Regards
Bendt

Hello Volker1948. You are right, I was marine engineer for more than forty years, we always like a clean engine room, and with PSC is also a duty. I was never on a ship going to the scrapyard and my comment was about the cleanliness of a ship going to a scrapyard. All the photos from Bendt show almost perfect cleaned engine rooms. Some photos from other scrapyard you can found in Youtube show engine rooms not so cleaned. May be are the ships recycled by Fornaes smaller and with the crews more enthusiast of their ships. Regards.Baldizza.

Big like. I always enjoy your photos of engine rooms. I wonder why these engine rooms from ships that are going to be recycled are always so clean! Regards. baldizza.
