Thanks for posting this highly interesting photo of one of the old famous T - tankers, this one is a type T1-M-BT2, built by the said American emergency yard of W W 2.

Just for the record: Built as Tarogle Oct. 1945, shortly after renamed Tinsley. In 1948 acquired by John Paul Getty for his Tidewater Oil Co. ( Tydol ) and renamed Tydol Flying A. Renamed Providence Getty in 1959. Sold out in 1980 - new name Cristina E.

On 30th Dec. 1951, involved in a collision with the US Liberty cargo ship Dorothy in the Delaware Bay. If interested - this collision is well described at www.uscg.mil/hq/g-cj/appeals-html/D10049.htm ( under Findings of Facts ).

Kind regards
Jesper
