This one was laid down as WITTE DE WITH for the Royal Netherlands Navy but sold during construction to the Hellenic Navy. Her sister ELLI was also laid down for the Dutch (as PIETER FLORISZ) and sold to Greece during construction. Greece later bought most of the other S-frigates from the Dutch as they were retired from Dutch service in the 90s and early 00s.
