Description:

Harbour anchorage zone.

Sailed Vancouver 15 Dec @ 19:31 UTC-8. ETA Prince Rupert (CA) 17 Dec.

Sidebar: This photo was more or less "in-focus" etc. when transferring from media card to PC. Minor (filter) enhancement done to try and make it more clear. However, looking at it on site the clarity has somewhat diminished..?
Given angle of ship in photo, perhaps the corrugated container wall panels may contribute to some softening of image as well....?
Either that or I need my reading glasses adjusted...?

Bit of mucking around in Photoshop CS then sharpened in Irfanview gave me a starting point, sure it can be improved even more, as shot its pretty good in full view though.

Andrecas, to me it looked that your post processing, out of the camera , had a little too much noise reduction, which may result in some loss in sharpness, which is shown here when look at the individual containers. Normally reducing the size of a larger shot than can be posted here, should not result in any loss of quality. My shots are all larger than the maximum size, and I have not suffered any loss of quality. And yes, the auto position in a modern camera should be avoided as much as possible.

@ pieter.... With all this razzle dazzle in camera technology I've become just a bit lazy and use basic "auto" feature.... :)
Hence, the pixel/ISO setting etc., become somewhat abnormal. To try and enhance image quality, I previously used L (Large) setting, but for uploading purposes had to resize each photo to stay under the 4000X4000 pix count. Checking to see what other adjustments can be made within "auto" feature.

Did you apply noise reduction?

Thank you Paul.
@ Daniel..Prior to uploading CMB TENIERS photos a subtle filter adjustment was made for clarity.

André: j'ai remarqué cela aussi avec votre photo de TENIERS. However it can be enhanced, I did.
