Description:
4th January 2022 had marked exactly 46 years since, with the help of Palm Line Agencies, I hired a boat to photograph as many as possible of the c300 ships anchored off Lagos, Nigeria, mainly loaded with cargoes of bagged cement. In eight hours I was able to photograph around one third of the ships.
Here is OSIA IRINI CHRYSOVALANDOU ,the former LEEDS CITY, built by Wm. Doxford at Sunderland in 1955 and sold to Greece in 1967. She had arrived off the port from Szczecin on 3rd December 1975 and eventually berthed at Lagos on 20th May 1977 in a leaky condition. She was next reported sailing from Abidjan on 15th July 1978 bound for Piraeus.
OSIA IRINI CHRYSOVALANDOU was operated by Alpedin Shipping Co. (G.Kotosvilis) of Piraeus.
