Description:

MARILION, the former JALAVIHAR of Scindia Steam Navigation, built at Vizakhapatnam in 1955 and purchased in 1971 by Greek owner Elias Papageorgiou (Transoceanic Shipping Co., Piraeus), is here seen passing London's Royal Docks inbound from Constantza for the India & Millwall Dock system on the misty morning of 18th March 1972, exactly fifty years ago today.

Renamed KALAVRIA in 1973 and KATERINA in 1974, she grounded at Kamaran Is, Red Sea on 5th May 1978 and was towed to Sveti Kajo, near Split, for breaking where she arrived on 25 September 1979.
