WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
07/06/2022, in the fading evening light, at the Port of Felixstowe, England.
The first of 11 20,150 TEU ultra large container ships ordered by Evergreen Corporation from the Imabari Group, to their design: Type 'Imabari 20000', and until the second ship was delivered, this was Evergreen's largest ever vessel in the fleet.
Interestingly, as can be seen in the image, no cargo work was being undertaken at this time, despite arriving at this berth on the evening of the 5th of June. Vessel spent a not-very-productive 61 hours alongside, and sailed on the 8th of June to the deep water anchorage off Felixstowe.
To date, 17/06/2022, she is still there, and is due to arrive at Hamburg at 2300hrs. on the 19/06.
This huge delay in cargo operations is, I assume, all part of the global delays caused by Covid restrictions affecting production in China, which is causing mayhem in shipping schedules, plus rocketing fuel prices, and the war invoked by Russia on Ukraine.
Keel laid on 25/12/2015, launched on 04/11/2017, & completed on 30/03/2018, by Imabari Shipbuilding, Saijo, Japan (8191)
199,962 g.t., 217,612 dwt., and 20,150 teu, as:
'Ever Golden'
