Hello there all, Yeah it always been a sorry site when you see the end of great liner. Anyway’s, she was brought to Pakistan after getting tough competition from all over the world Heritage. USA wants this ship as a floating Hotel, Australia also wants to keep her as remembrance of Royal Liner and the list is go on .. But you just Can't blame the ship Breaker for cutting these sort of ships.... It was British government who actually wants to sell her to Ship Breakers. Luckily she came to Pakistan at M/s. Ghaffar & Company plot - Gadani. She was anchored for more than a month in outer bay because lot of people of all walks of life came to see her and pay gratitude too. Lot of precious things has been taken by local & Government officials as a gift and thus breakers have Loss in this Deal.... But none the less she was majestic No doubt about it.... Regards,

It is so sad to see the old lady like this...she did sterling work on South Atlantic at the FALKLANDS...ala MALVINAS confligration....but now he rots away... :-( sincerly BRIAN..

What a sad sight. I have just submitted a shot of Canberra leaving Southampton circa 1991 which was the last time I saw her until your shot.I'm sure there's a tear in the corner of my eye.
