So, as we have no Waste collection vessel category... inland special purpose ships? However, IMO.org describes all Invotis vessels (II to X) as waste disposal vessels. De Binnenvaart calls them "kraan & overslagschip" (for overslagschip Google comes up with transfer ship...) Is a waste disposal vessel really defined as only dropping off the waste at sea, never anywhere else?

The waste is usually being dropped down into this ship, if you see it in operation there is a long row of grey plastic bags that is being thrown from the ship that is being served. It will then be brought to a shore reception facility, where waste will be processed. The difference with a disposal vessel is that the rubbish, usually in liquid form, is being dumped into the sea.

Ah, that's the difference. However (although this isn't accurate) I guess the photos should remain in this category. People (like me) who are not familiar with this type of vessel at least have an idea what kind of operations these ships make. In "Inland special purpose vessels" I would have had no clue about what's the special purpose.

This is not a waste DISPOSAL vessel, but a waste collection ship. Contrary to the disposal ships, the collected waste is NOT discharged at sea but delivered at a proper waste processing facility.
