The Greek owned tanker FORTUITY, photographed passing Portishead inbound for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on new year's eve 1972, had been built by Scotts’ Shipbuilding at Greenock in 1953 as BORDER REGIMENT
She was purchased in 1969 by Halkidon Shipping Corporation (Spyros Vlachakis - represented in London by Southern Shipping & Finance Company Limited) and renamed FORTUITY.
FORTUITY finally arrived at Masan, South Korea, on 20th February 1975 to be broken up
