Description:

A representative of the F-Class Shell 32000 DWT product tankers built in the seventies by Haugesund MV. (FICUS being yard #53) They were special because of the installation of two medium speed MAN R6V52/55 4-stroke engines of 6000 BHP each, geared to a single shaft.
She was broken up as ASTRALIA II at Alang during 2001.

Interesting that the "F" class were Liberian registered, whereas the contemporary "E" class were under the British (and German?) flag.

If I am not mistaken the E-Class came a few years later, around 78-79, perhaps there were more incentives (financial) to refrain of the use of an FOC for this class?

From January and May 1979 until 1996 both ENSIS and ELONA were managed by Deutsche Shell Tanker GmbH, Hamburg but sailed under Liberia flag (Lepton Shipp. Corp., Monrovia).
