Collided 6th July 1979 with Italian tanker "Vera Berlingieri" (IMO 5376519) about 18 miles off Fiumicino on the Italian coast; the tanker caught fire & the crew abandoned ship; the fire spread to the “Delmas” & 27 of her crew of 31 died. She was towed to Toulon & declared a constructive total loss.
Sold August 1979 to Good Challenger Shipping Co. S.A., Greece & repaired; re-entered service March 1960 as “Good Challenger”.
