WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Belonging to the "smaller unit" in the Shell L-tanker ULCC range, the Litiopa was built by Mitsui and delivered in 1977. She was already ordered late in 1971, but in 1976 it was decided to go ahead with her construction in spite of the dolldrums in the tanker market. She disposed of her in 1985, when she went to Ceres Shipping and traded as FLAGSHIP L, until 1987, when she was taken over by Bulls Tankrederi to become Jamunda. Several names down the road she became Litiopa again but by then she was already being converted to an FPSO. As SAXI BALUQUE she is still at work off Angola.
Flagship L is shown here around 1986 at the MOT, taking bunkers.
