Royal Malaysian Navy's ex-British Ton-class coastal minesweeper KD “Ledang” at Penang, 15th April 1976
Builder: Cook, Welton & Gemmell, Beverley, North Yorkshire (Hull-870)
Displacements: 360 standard, 425 full load
Length: 46.3 m
Draft: 2.5 m
Engines: 2 x 8-cylinder Napier Deltic diesels, total 3,000 b.h.p.; twin screw
Speed: 15 knots
Complement: 29
Commissioned:13th March 1955
Suffered severe damage to propellor shaft glands in heavy seas in March 1956; paid off.
Underwent refit at Malta June-December 1956; transferred to Reserve Fleet.
Underwent further refit 1972-73 at Vosper Thorneycroft, Singapore; on completion in October 1973 transferred to RMN as KD “Ledang” (retaining pennant number)
Deactivated early-1980s.
