Completed April 1946 for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co., Douglas (now the oldest continuously-operating passenger shipping company in the world); employed on Douglas/Liverpool service
Bought by Taylor's October 1975, retaining name, & laid up at Glasson Dock
Broke loose from her moorings during a storm on 2 January 1976, drifted on the river (Lune) & eventually ran aground on some mud flats; refloated on 15 April.
Resold December 1977 to M. Lynch & Son (Metals), Rochester; towed to Rochester.
Demolition began November November 1978 & completed the following year. Some of her machinery was purchased by the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, & subsequently put on display; I made a “search” on their website but it seems there's only documents (ship's plans) held there now.
