Description:
This was taken when approaching the English Channel from Biscay on the London Tradition, date about 17th February 1966. We were on passage from Tuapse, on the Black Sea to Rotterdam, carrying oil. I got up that morning to find us in fog. I went onto the bridge around 10am after finishing my first radio watch of the day. This vessel was still unseen but was a target on the radar that we were gradually catching up. She made a fine subject as she emerged out of the fog. The photo was taken with a 135mm lens, so we weren’t quite as close as it might appear.
