Description:

This year she is 86 years old; the British built motor yacht is the Royal Yacht of Norway, manned by the Royal Norwegian Navy. Built in 1937 for Sir Thomas Sopwith, one of the famous air plane pioners/constructors of Great Britain, as m/y «Philante». Dim: 250 feet long. GrT 1.625 tons. Engines: 2 x Bergen Diesels, totalling 3.520 HP. Speed 14 knots. These days she is training before the Summer Season. She is one of the two only sailing Royal Yachts in the world.
