Description:

Ellerman Hall Line's 1958 Wallsend built CITY OF LANCASTER arriving at Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 7th April 1973, from Karachi via Cochin

Later: 1979: LANCASTER (Diamantides Maritime Co., Piraeus)

On 25th September 1979, during a voyage from Calcutta to Glasgow with a cargo of tea and general cargo when on a round voyage charter back to Ellerman Lines, she collided with THISTLE VENTURE, arriving at Glasgow in tow on 16 March 1980.

She was at the end of 1981 sent to Aviles, sailing from there on 9 January 1982 for Pasajes and from there on to San Esteban de Pravia for scrapping, work commencing on 10 January 1982
