Description:
U.S. Government owned WASHINGTON is here seen at Livorno, Italy in February 1991.
She was built 1944 at Marinship, Sausalito, Calif. as T-2 tanker MISSION SAN DIEGO.
In 1967 she was sold to Seatrain Lines and renamed SEATRAIN WASHINGTON. She then had a large rebuilding, was lenghtened and rebuilt to Ro/Ro & Rail Vehicle Carrier.
In 1977 she was transferred to U.S. Government (Marad), who shortened her name to WASHINGTON.
In October 2001 the vessel was reported sold to breakers.
