Description:

Singapore-registered GOLDEN BEAR is here seen at Shanghai in October 1991.
This vessel was one of several German Liberty Replacement vessels, she was built 1970 at Flensburger Schiffbau Ges, Flensburg, who built 18 vessels of this type.
She was launched as MARTHA FISSER, but delivered as SUNBADEN as she was chartered to the Canadian company Saguenay.
In late 1973 the name reverted to MARTHA FISSER, and in 1974 she again became SUNBADEN due to a new Saguenay-charter.

Nice situ photo of Shanghai Arnes!
Normally in these waters smoke like that came from domestic steamers, maybe some turbo charger issues here.
To the left is one of the HONG QI's like this one:

To the right on the river following is a Flender-built HUA like her:

Yes Manfred, I agree with you regarding the ship to the right coming down the river. I did not photograph her, but it is definately one of the Flenderwerke vessels. I have photos of the ex: POSSEHL, which is the same type.
The one to the left was named CHANG JIAN, of which I have posted a photo last year.
Regards, Arne S.
