On March 16, 1963 whaler ran aground on the rock in lat. 63°53'S, long. 60°34'W. Two days later she was pulled out from rocks and taken in tow. But in heavy weather condition the vessel was lost and foundered in lat. 63°57'S, long. 60°42'W.
