That is really a pretty amazing photo Marc! Major congrats!!! I have been in -27F temperatures and it is not a time to spend time outside - I commend your fortitude in getting such a marvelous photo. Stay warm this summer!

Thanks Dave. These extreme temps fortunately occur rarely in our parts during the winter but they do create unique photo ops when the sun is out. The problem was with my gloves which have to be flexible enough to activate the camera's shutter. As a result, they are thin and at -44°C are not made to protect my hands from the intense cold.

Really awesome pic, you are brave indeed, i have also ventured out at extreme temperatures but not that cold, only when ice fishing, cheers to both of you: Marc and Dave

Thanks Vedran. Much appreciated. I had to walk one hundred meters to this location to get the shots so you can imagine the ordeal of dealing with the freezing wind and if even if I was dressed properly, it still affected me greatly as I'm not young anymore (50 years of specialized ship photography this year). I stayed out there for 15 minutes while another ship the tanker SEAWAYS HERCULES was in my area as well. It took me a few hours to recover at home later on.

Thanks Vedran. It's been a busy half-a-century of ship photography and a most rewarding one at that!
