As usual, another great photo from your collection, Malcolm. Thanks for share with us. Does anyone know the means of maritime signal flags? I can understand the H, the G and the P, but not two N's.

Hi Ricardo I would assume the PKNN is the call sign for the Sangihe - this would fit in with her being an Indonesian vessel. The G flag typically would be"I require a pilot".

1. It is a very difficult task to rectify the obvious errors made, in principle, constantly, in the data provided on this portal. For most of you (perhaps) the information about the Polish shipyards that built the presented ships is not important.
Quite the opposite for me. On the occasion of the presentation of this beautiful ship, information was given that it was built by some (NEVER EXISTING!!!) NEW shipyard in Szczecin. Well, ladies and gentlemen, in Szczecin, on the basis of the former ADOLF WARSKI SHIPYARD, a company was established, which was called STOCZNIA NOWA, but giving its name as New Shipyard (English translation) is a misunderstanding. As for the presented ship ... Year of construction 1961 , so times when no one in our country even dreamed of freedom or privatization of large state - owned companies ( shipyards , steel mills , mines , textile factories and many others ) . The ship was built in the Adolf Warski SHIPYARD and such information should be included in the column: BUILDER... If it is too difficult, it may be better to abandon this part of the information altogether and leave it to the commentators.

2. In the ship tonnage descriptions, you commit all the time
very serious factual error.
At one time (until the second half of the 1990s, I think) gross tonnage (GRT) and net tonnage (NRT) were given in units called REGISTER TONS [RT], with the register ton being a unit of volume, not mass [t]. One register ton was equivalent to 100 cubic feet or 2.83 cubic meters.
It is appropriate to indicate tonnage in the form of XXX GRT for old ships; YYY NRT .
The terms BRT and NRT have now been dropped. Currently, this information is given in non-nominal form; For example GT XXX , NT YYY.
It is completely absurd to provide information on the capacity of ships using the unit of MASS, which is the ton [t], which is equivalent to 1000 kilograms. The units of mass - metric tons are allowed to be used only for carrying capacity, displacement and the so-called light ship (empty ship weight, without stores and crew). I admit that as a shipbuilding engineer by education and a former officer-navigator, I am tired of this type of (obvious to me) mistakes. I realize that the Shipspotting Portal is mainly a meeting place for ship lovers and photographers, but if any data is provided, it should be thoroughly verified. There are those among us who draw their knowledge only from data posted on the Internet, without any verification.

Thank you very much for this one, Malcolm!
So this is what they looked like - way closer to regular B-59 ships than I had been thinking.
This owner received also another, specially designed series of seven B-450 ships from Szczecin:
"TOGARAN", "TOMAKO", TOLANDO", TOMBATU", "TOWUTI", "TOBELO" and ""TOKALA".
